The First PACIFIC RIM UPRISING Kaiju Action Figure Surfaces (Exclusive)

Until today, something big was missing in Diamond Select‘s Pacific Rim Uprising action figure line. Two series of Jaegers have been announced and revealed, but who are they going to fight? The trailer suggests maybe each other at some point, but we all know the real big bads of this franchise are the kaiju. And now, at last, we’re getting our first look at the toy that’s going to smack your Jaegers silly.

See, there’s a problem of scale sometimes. Hakuja here is too big to be packaged and sold like the drift robots who oppose him, so Diamond is releasing this extra-dimensional sea monster as an articulated 12-inch head-to-tail vinyl toy. He’s designed to be in scale with the seven-inch figures, which in turn should also be in scale with any NECA figures you may have from the first movie, so everybody can play nice. Until, as Patrick Swayze would say, it’s time not to be nice.

Unlike many other Diamond figures, this isn’t sculpted by Gentle Giant or Jean St. Jean, but rather Big Shot Toy Works, who have created such epic previous figures as Mondo’s Iron Giant. Long may they collaborate, we say.

Kaiju Hakuja will cost you $45; it comes in a full-color window box. If you let him out of his cardboard and plastic prison, we are not responsible for the acts of tiny, tiny damage that may ensue. But have some mini-Jaegers handy just in case.
