Oscar Isaac is Starring in a Scripted Podcast Later This Month

Oscar Isaac may not be back on the big screen until 2017, but fans won’t have to wait long to hear his voice again. Isaac has not only landed a leading role in a new scripted podcast, it will be out in just over two weeks!

According to Variety, Isaac is starring in Homecoming, a new six-episode series that is described as a “psychological thriller that takes place at an experimental facility.” Isaac’s character is a soldier who is having trouble readjusting to life outside of the military, and he will presumably be drawn into the previously mentioned experiments.

Because Homecoming is essentially a serialized radio play, the story will unfold almost exclusively through phone calls and therapy sessions, as well as overheard conversations. That kind of storytelling is better suited for this audio format. Homecoming has also lined up an impressive supporting cast including Catherine Keener, David Schwimmer, David Cross, and Amy Sedaris. Keener will portray the caseworker of Isaac’s character, while Schwimmer will be the director of the facility where the experiments are taking place. The details about Cross and Sedaris’ roles have not yet been released.

Gimelt Media has also released a brief preview scene from Homecoming, which features one of the individuals involved with the experiments as she is confronted by an investigator.

The Homecoming podcast will launch on November 16, but listeners who sign up with GimletMedia.com will have the chance to hear Homecoming before its official debut.
