ORPHAN BLACK Spills Major Season 4 Details in New Trailer and Synopses

We’ve got big news unlike all the rest, Orphan Black fans. Which means mystery, intrigue, and episodic synopses abound if you head down below. Needless to say this post is a one-woman spoilerbomb so if you don’t want major insight into season four, turn away from the post now!

Alright sestras, are you ready to hear where season four’s going to take our fair Clone Club? We’ve got more than just a new Leda coming our way—we’ve got a Castor unlike any other, a look at the face behind the sheep’s mask, and insight into the new big bad of the season. (Don’t say we didn’t warn you on the spoiler front.)

As you can tell from the trailer above—watch it if you haven’t—we’re in for a big turn for many of the clones this season. With Neolution hot on the girls’ tail, there’s sure to be some serious dirt to uncover as to their origins—but perhaps more surprising? It looks like there may be more than one clone baby in our future! What is it about the information the Neolutionists have that makes this possible?

After the end of season three—which found Sarah reunited with her foster mom Mrs. S, her daughter Kira, and clone original Kendall Malone—most of the girls landed in a good place. Alison, now living the life thanks to the spoils of her and Donnie’s drug trade, spends her days guiding Helena into motherhood and run-of-the-mill, non-assassin living. Meanwhile, Cosmia’s still on the hunt for a cure (no word on what she does or doesn’t know about Delphine).

But it’s not all good things for everyone: Felix is feeling positively left behind thanks to Sarah’s newfound, biologic connection to her family. And Rachel? Well, she’s still in who-knows-where recovering from who-knows-what sort of crazy Neolutionist surgery with her “mom,” Susan Duncan.

With new clone M.K. in the picture—no doubt a very likely connection to Beth and how this whole mystery started—things are sure to go south again, what with the reveal of “a potent new enemy, heading in a horrifying but familiar direction.” Sounds like a job for Detective Art Bell, don’t it? Also returning? James Frain as Ferdinand (Topside’s creepy assassin), Maslany’s latest and most instantly beloved clone, Krystal, and Ari Millen as a Castor clone Ira, “a far cry from his brothers. Slick to the naked eye, he’s cut entirely from a different cloth.” Obviously, we’re hoping he ends up with some funky sort of Neolutionist appendage and/or freaky biologic upgrade.

Other new characters include Joel Thomas Hynes’ Dizzy, an “edgy hacker who doesn’t conform to group mentality,” Jessalyn Wanlim as Evie Cho, “a powerful bioengineer,” Lauren Hammersley as Adele, “a wickedly intelligent lawyer with a bit of a drinking problem” (new friend for Alison, perhaps?), Gord Rand as Detective Duko, “a mysterious figure with ties to Neolution,” and Ian Matthews and Miranda Edwards as Frank and Roxie, respectively—otherwise known as Neolution’s clean-up crew. Find out about some of the new characters in the image gallery below!

Unlike other seasons, season four seems to have some decided change for the unending mystery surrounding the clones’ origins. With the press release touting the girls’ unification “in their mission to end the constant threats to their lives once and for all,” we may finally discover the “why” of it all.
