Another Rogue One: A Star Wars Story clip? Must be Thursday. This one, however, is pretty important, because it reveals just where the film got its name… Also in today’s Movie Morsels, we know who will play the Big Bad in the Tomb Raider reboot, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter gets one final poster, and oh so much more!
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
So is anyone wondering how Rogue One came to be called Rogue One? The answer arrived this week via, of all places, TV’s Live with Kelly, where the latest clip from the Star Wars spinoff film debuted. On a separate note, is it just me or does anyone else get a strange, bittersweet feeling when they consider that no matter how successful this movie will be when it opens next Friday, December 16th, it will absolutely not get a sequel? Like somehow knowing we’ll only see Jyn Erso and her team once makes the time we’re about to spend with them feel just a little more special than it would otherwise?
Tomb Raider
I never thought I’d be saying this, but, man, the Tomb Raider reboot is off to a damn fine start. After casting the Oscar-winning, supercool Alicia Vikander as the new Lara Croft, the film has signed on one of the best character actors working today as its villain. Let’s hear it for The Hateful Eight and Vice Principals star Walton Goggins, who will try to outwit Ms. Croft in the film helmed by Norwegian director Roar Uthaug.

Resident Evil: Final Chapter
While I can’t say I was ever the world’s biggest fan of the Resident Evil film franchise, it was always nice to see Milla Jovovich arrive at WonderCon or Comic-Con every two or three years to promote the series’ latest installment with her husband/director Paul W. S. Anderson. In a weird way, they gave me hope for my own marriage, since my wife and I also work together sometimes. So a part of me is actually kind of sad to see the last-ever new poster for a Resident Evil movie. That is until someone comes along and reboots the whole darn thing…

United Kingdom
And speaking of cute couples, meet King Seretse Khama of Botswana and Ruth Williams of Great Britain, who married in the 1940s just as Apartheid was arriving in Africa. They’re played by David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike in the period drama United Kingdom. Here’s the trailer for the February 17th release…
Fifty Shades Darker
Last but not least today… For those who prefer their couples kinky rather than classy, we have the second full trailer for the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel Fifty Shades Darker. A lot steamier than the film’s first trailer, it actually makes it appear as though actors Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson have some on-screen chemistry this time around!
