One More Reminder For Doctor Who-eekend At The Nerdist Channel

Tomorrow is a big day at the Nerdist Channel, as you may have gathered from the daily promotional mentions I’ve dropped onto the site. But it doesn’t hurt to remind everyone that it’s Doctor Who-eekend starting Friday, does it?

The festivities, timed to celebrate the start of the new series of Doctor Who on Saturday night, begin on Friday morning with the Team Doctor Who edition of Chris Hardwick’s All Star Celebrity Bowling. You’ll see Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, and Steven Moffat as you’ve never seen them before (I’m fairly confident about that, considering how they professed not to be bowlers), taking on Team Nerdist, namely Chris, Chloe Dykstra, Alex Albrecht, and special guest Wil Wheaton. Chris uses a TARDIS ball, some of the bowlers display very strange yet oddly effective form, and much laughter ensues. It’s a must-watch.

On Saturday morning, you’ll see the debut of the Nerdist Channel’s new series of cooking specials, Dork Fork, which will show you how to make special edibles for specific special occasions. The first episode shows you how to make snacks with a Doctor Who, the better with which to watch the series 7 opener. And the guest is noted Whovian and Good Eats/Iron Chef America host (and latest Nerdist Podcast guest) Alton Brown. That’s a great way to start a show.

You’ll undoubtedly take a break to watch the new Doctor Who episode “Asylum of the Daleks” on Saturday night, 7:20p on BBC One in the U.K,, and 9/8c on BBC America in the U.S. and Space in Canada. But we have an amazing post-game show for you at the Nerdist Channel, Chris’ exclusive Q&A with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan (plus Executive Producer Caroline Skinner). It’s the panel that followed the New York preview screening of the episode at the Ziegfeld Theater. Real Whovians will not want to miss that.

Finally, on Sunday morning, Just Cos returns with cosplay coverage from Galllfrey One. Chloe and Matt Mira wander the halls looking for the best and weirdest Whovian cosplay; Maybe you’ll get some ideas for your own costumes.

Again, it’s all must-watch stuff for any Doctor Who fan or anyone else, for that matter. Subscribe to the Nerdist Channel now and be there Friday morning as Doctor Who-eekend kicks off.
