As soon as ABC announced they would be moving ahead with Marvel’s Agent Carter, fans immediatley began speculating. When will the series take place, and who will appear alongside Peggy Carter? We don’t have to wonder about the first part of that question any longer; Marvel has released an official synopsis that sets the story straight. They’ve also revealed the promo image for the new show:
Marvel’s Agent Carter centers on the Peggy Carter we know from Captain America: The First Avenger and the one-shot that was included on the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray. Hayley Atwell reprises her role, and the year is 1946. This puts the Agent Carter television series approximately one year after the one-shot short. From Marvel:
It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life–Steve Rogers.
They mention Howard Stark but don’t state whether Dominic Cooper will be returning as the genius. He appeared in the one-shot though, so that makes me feel optimistic. One member of the Howling Commandos also showed up in the short (Neal McDonough’s Dum Dum Dugan). Between that and the recent reference to the Howling Commandos in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Marvel could be planning to incorporate the skillful group into the show. Because come on – Carter giving orders to the Howling Commandos? That has potential.

Yes. Yes. Yes
maybe this is how marvel will tell the story of the stark family death by hydra
Oh my god am I ever excited for this. I can’t wait!
More Howling Commandos please! I know it sounds silly, but seeing an Asian American among the ranks in the first movie touched me personally. It affirmed the acknowledgement of my people’s part in WWII in a major motion picture and that always makes me smile when I watch the film.
Also, Agent Carter and Howard Stark are so awesome. I hope the actor comes back for the show because he rocked!
Not silly at all! I’m not an Asian-American and I felt the same way!
“Are you looking forward to Marvel’s Agent Carter?”
Wait, does that mean there are people who aren’t?
Exactly.
