Five years ago, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch caught our attention with its stunningly beautiful graphics which seemed to evoke the style of Studio Ghibli. It’s been a long wait for the sequel, but Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is set to hit later this month. Within the world of the game, it’s been several hundred years since the events of the first title. Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum of the cat tribe was set to rule over the town called Ding Dong Dell. However, Evan has been overthrown by the mouse tribe, which will force him to undertake a quest to reclaim his kingdom. The latest trailer for Wrath of the White Witch focuses on Evan’s journey, and it gives fans of the series a proper introduction to their new hero.
The trailer is essentially the abbreviated version of Evan’s transition from scared child to worthy champion. Along the way, we also see a few of Evan’s new companions, including Tani, the daughter of an air pirate boss, and Roland, a visitor from another world. The footage also features a glimpse of Evan’s enemies as they seize the thrown, as well as an enigmatic Black Knight who intimidates even Evan’s most loyal protectors. Along the way, there’s also going to be plenty of creatures to battle.
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is coming to Playstation 4 and Steam on March 23.
