The most recent World of Warcraft expansion, Warlords of Draenor, was announced back at 2013’s Blizzcon, which is par for the course with Wow expansion reveals. It’s very interesting that Blizzard didn’t save this announcement for their own convention later this fall. Maybe this is a small unveiling in order to build some hype, eventually leading to a majority of the expansion’s details being fleshed out in November. Or, perhaps they have something even more paramount coming down the pipeline for Blizzcon (World of Starcarft, anyone).
