New THE LAST JEDI Footage Has Poe and Leia Plotting to Blow Stuff Up

If it sometimes feels like we literally can’t get enough Star Wars in our lives, that’s because it’s true. With the film a scant few weeks away, we’re ready to cancel our plans at the drop of a hat in order to analyze every single frame of never-before-seen footage—like those that were included in a new teaser for The Last Jedi. But before you (accurately) accuse us of being way-too-obsessed, in our defense they are two pretty freaking awesome seconds, because it features Poe Dameron getting permission from General Leia to blow shit up.

We came across this “Darkness Rises” promo for the film at The A.V. Club, and it shows Poe Dameron on the bridge of Leia’s ship looking for her approval to do some damage. This isn’t surprising since we’ve heard that Poe’s fervor to destroy the First Order will be a major part of his character’s role in the film, but this particular scene hasn’t been included in any previous materials released from the film. (Starts at about the nine-second mark.)

“Permission to jump in an X-Wing and blow something up?”
“Permission granted.”

Damn right! Now we’re fired up! Where do we enroll in the Resistance? As far as two seconds of footage goes, what more could we want than our Princess sending her best pilot out to destroy the bad guys?

But we’re still going to spend way too much time breaking it down frame-by-frame just in case we missed anything else. It’s what we do.

What do you think of this footage? Is Poe in danger of not making it out alive in this film? Permission to tell us what you think in the comments below.
