New STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Stamps Are Coming to Britain’s Royal Mail

The debut of Star Wars: The Force Awakens may be fewer than 100 days away in the United States, but some of the heroes and bad guys of the franchise will be gracing the Royal Mail of the United Kingdom much sooner. Starting on October 20th – only a little over a month from now – a whole new set of stamps will be available for circulation and collection.

The new series of stamps will feature stars of the new films Finn, Rey, and Kylo Ren (and an adorable BB8 on Rey’s stamp if my eyes do not deceive me) as well as some familiar faces from both the original trilogy. Darth Vader, the Emperor, Boba Fett, Princess Leia, Luke, and Han Solo are all represented as well as departed heroes like Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Don’t worry if you don’t see the name of your favorite characters in that list though. (Hello R2D2?!) If you take a moment to look closely at the examples in the gallery below, you’ll see that each stamp has a small inset picture where Chewbacca, R2D2 and C-3PO all make appearances. And in case you were wondering if Episodes I-III are represented at all, I think it’s safe to say that the Emperor we see on these stamps is actually the younger, less decrepit Emperor from that trilogy as his inset picture holds a younger, uninjured Anakin Skywalker instead of the masked Darth Vader.

So if you have a friend in the UK or you are planning on traveling there yourself sometime in the next few months, please grab a set of these stamps and send your mail flying around the galaxy at lightspeed. Something tells me the hyperdrive will not be faulty on their journey.
