Yesterday, we learned about a slew of new Pokémon via a Japanese trailer, but today, that same trailer is available in English, and since we’re a bit better at understanding our native tongue, we learned a few new things about the latest additions to the Pokédex. Watch it above.
For one, we got a lot of new information about how Zygarde works. Its various Formes are made up of Zygarde Cores and Zygarde Cells; According to the Pokémon website, “Cores are cell-like components that make up Zygarde, and only a small number of them exist. Cores serve as brains, and by gathering Cells, they can create Zygardeâs different forms. Cores have their own wills and sometimes act on their own.”
Then, “Cells make up the parts of Zygarde other than its brain. There are many more Cells than there are Cores, and they exist all around the Alola region. Cells do not possess wills of their own. They act in accordance with the orders of a Core.” With this, Zygarde also gets two new Formes when Cells and Cores configure in different ways: 10% Forme and Complete Forme.
Now for the new guys: Aside from what we already know, we learned that Charjabug is the evolved form of the previously revealed Grubbin, and Vikavolt evolves from Charjabug. Presumably, that completes the Grubbin evolutionary line, unless Vikavolt gets a Mega form at some point or something else we don’t expect happens.
Further information about all the next Pokémon is available here, so have a look at that and let us know in the comments if this new information changes any opinions you’ve formed on the newest creatures.
