New PENNY DREADFUL Season 3 Trailer is Deliciously Creepy

The time is getting closer, fellow Dreadfuls. We are now less than a month away from the third season premiere of Penny Dreadful on Showtime, and the network has released a new trailer showcasing some of the upcoming season’s gothic goodness. The end of season two left our main characters splitting up and going their separate ways, but judging from the latest trailer, it won’t be long before the constant supernatural drama surrounding Miss Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) draws everyone back together again. Here’s the official description of season three from Showtime:

Season three includes a wealth of new and returning stars. Tony Award winner LuPone (American Horror Story), who guest starred last season as the Cut-Wife, returns as a series regular in the new role of Dr. Seward, an American therapist who treats Vanessa with an unconventional new approach. Wes Studi (Hell On Wheels, A Million Ways to Die in the West) is a new series regular starring as Kaetenay, an intense, enigmatic Native American with a deep connection to Ethan (Josh Hartnett) who also becomes an ally to Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton).

So what can we glean from this latest trailer? Well, it appears the vampire minions of Dracula—or simply “The Master” as he’s called on this show—are back for our Miss Ives, after taking a season two breather. Vanessa also seems to have checked herself into an insane asylum at some point, and I can hardly blame her. Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) seems to be embracing his werewolf side even more, and has a fetching new haircut as well. And Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney) and Lily Frankenstein (Billie Piper) are still waltzing. I thought they were going to take over the world or something? So many questions to be answered.

Penny Dreadful season three premieres on Sunday, May 1st at 10PM ET/PT.
