New LUKE CAGE Clip Sheds Light on a Real Superhero Problem

With only few weeks until Luke Cage is set to premiere, we here at Nerdist.com are champing at the bit for any extra glimpse of the show that Netflix will give us. We’ve gone over the trailer extensively and can barely contain ourselves when it comes to seeing the next MCU installment of The Defenders. We want–scratch that–need more Luke Cage in our lives and this morning it seems our super-powered prayers have been answered with this extended clip of of Cage serving up his special brand of bulletproof justice.

The scene, which we caught a glimpse of in the official trailer, shows Mike Colter‘s Cage confronting some gun-toting fellas in a boxing gym and he, as one might expect, makes quick work of them. What’s interesting about the clip is how much attention is paid to the fact Luke’s bulletproof nature causes ricochets without much loss of speed in the bullets. The rest of the gym is decimated by these rebounding shots, so we can only surmise that it’ll likely be something Cage has to be cognizant of when he’s around civilians.

On a lighter note, we can’t imagine the budgets both sides have in this show’s reality. The criminals are wasting an incredible amount of ammunition that, even acquired by illegal means, has got to be paid for somehow. We feel bad for those poor crime syndicate accountants trying to keep costs down when their co-workers just keep firing away. Furthermore, we’ve got a bone to pick with Luke’s complaint about always having to buy new clothes at the end of the clip. You know it’s crime-fighting night, Luke. Why’d you go and wear your nice clothes? There better be a episode or scene in the series where someone shows him that dollar stores occasionally have sweatshirts.

How excited are you for Luke Cage? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
