New INHUMANS Teaser Promises Freedom and Betrayal

Yesterday, Marvel and ABC unveiled the first look at the cast of Inhumans in full costume, which offered fans a taste of what to expect from the new TV series. So far, the Inhumans have only appeared in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as superhuman individuals who share this world with the rest of humanity. But the Inhumans TV series will expand the scope of the MCU by introducing the royal family and the capital city Attilan, which is definitely not located on Earth! And while a trailer for the series has yet to be released, a new audio teaser hints at treachery from within the royal family.

Just to provide some background, the Inhumans are ruled by King Black Bolt (Anson Mount), and his wife, Queen Medusa (Serinda Swan). But their reign may soon come to an end, if Marvel’s audio teaser is any indication.

We’re not sure who the female speaker is, but we’d know the voice of Ramsay Bolton anywhere! That’s Iwan Rheon, who is playing Maximus, Black Bolt’s brother. The producers of this series have promised that Maximus will be a more complex character than his comic book counterpart, Maximus the Mad. But some things clearly remain the same, as Maximus advocates the overthrow of his own brother. Story details are still light, but we do know that Black Bolt, Medusa, and other members of the royal family will be forced to flee to Earth after a coup in Attilan. That leads us to believe that Maximus’ efforts to claim the throne will pay off.

The two-hour Inhumans series premiere will be released in IMAX theaters on Friday, September 1 for a two week run. The eight-episode first season will premiere on ABC later this fall.
