New GHOSTBUSTERS, DOCTOR WHO, and BACK TO THE FUTURE Packs Released for LEGO DIMENSIONS

If you read our review for LEGO Dimensions, you probably know how much I dug the game. And while the main reason stems from how well the toy pad and minifigures work in tandem, the way that developer Tt Games incorporated 14 franchises also played a key role in determining the score. On top of the characters and locations that appear in the main story, we’ve already seen 2 waves of expansions hit shelves since the game’s launch at the end of September. Today, the company is releasing five new packs with content from Ghostbusters, Doctor Who, DC Comics, Back to the Future, and LEGO Ninjago.

First up is the Ghostbusters Level Pack, which includes the mission “A Spook Central Adventure!”, a buildable Peter Venkman minifigure and Proton Pack, Ecto-1, and Ghost Trap– all of which are playable in the game. Players will also be able to use the Laser Deflector, Suspend Ghosts, and Hazard Protection abilities to solve puzzles. Of the new releases, this pack contains the most content, as well as the only additional level.

Next is a two-for-one fun pack that includes both Harley Quinn and The Joker, puddin’. Since there are two characters in this pack, you’ll be scoring two vehicles: Joker’s chopper and Harley’s Quinn-mobile, and will also have access to a ton of new abilities. We’re particularly excited to test out Harley’s acrobatic moves, and see how they compare to Wyldstyle’s.

The last three packs feature the least amount of content, adding a Cyberman minifig, and a Dalek with the Cyberman Fun Pack; a Doctor Brown minifig and his Traveling Time Train, with the Doctor Brown Fun Back; and a Sensei Wu minifig, and Flying White Dragon, in the Sensei Wu Fun Pack.
