Itâs over. The speculation is over. It has to be. Right? After all the photos at airports, on-set sightings, comments about the show being a part of his life for awhile longer, we knew this was coming. But now we donât even have to pretend like weâll be surprised. Not after the official HBO Twitter account released this new promotional photo for the upcoming sixth season of Game of Thrones. Why? See for yourself.

Jon Snow. Bloodied. Weary. Alive?
If someone wanted to argue that this was the ultimate misdirection from HBO, they could, but they’re likely wrong. This is not a surprise, every piece of evidence we haveâboth from the story itself and the mounting real world sightingsâhave told us Jon Snow would land amongst the living. But hey: sometimes you have to play along, even when the birthday boy knows you have a party planned.
So we’ll go along with HBO’s little trollingâwink wink, nudge nudgeâbecause we all know that the network and the show’s cast and creators are messing with us. We’re not new. But that doesn’t mean we don’t think this isn’t a red herring for a much more surprising return (cough cough Lady Stoneheart cough cough). So yeah: who’s the troll now, HBO?
But what do you make of this photo being released? Tell us in the comments below.
