New ARROW Season 5 Trailer Puts Killing Back on the Table

The new season of Arrow is just a week away, and Oliver Queen can’t save the city by himself. The mayor of Star City is putting together a new Team Arrow for season 5, but there may be an unknown adversary gunning for Green Arrow!

Stephen Amell debuted the latest trailer for Arrow‘s fifth season, which finds Oliver regressing into the more lethal tactics he employed back during his earliest days as a costumed vigilante. Throughout the trailer, there are also hints that someone else has been taking Oliver’s signature weapons and using them against civilians and police offers. And by the end of the video, fans will have their first glimpse of the show’s next big bad.

With John Diggle back in the military and Laurel Lance dead, Team Arrow is seriously depleted. That’s why Oliver and Felicity are bringing in a fresh group of up-and-coming heroes. Last season, fans were introduced to Curtis Holt and Evelyn Sharp before they took on the roles of Mr. Terrific and Artemis, respectively. Now, they’ll be joined by Jack Wheeler, a.k.a. Wild Dog, and Rory Regan, the hero known as Ragman.

The trailer also shows a few clips from this year’s flashback storyline, which will explore Oliver’s time in Russia as a member of the Bratva. Additionally, The Walking Dead alum Chad L. Coleman’s Tobias Church is introduced as he makes his play for power in Star City, and we even catch a glimpse of an apparent assassination attempt on Oliver!

Arrow season 5 will begin on Wednesday, October 5.
