New AMERICAN GODS Pics, STRANGER THINGS’ Steve is Jean-Ralphio’s Dad, and More

Early 2017 means the arrival of Starz’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods, and that’s exciting news. Today’s TV-Cap has two new photos from the drama—a fresh pic of Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday and Kristin Chenoweth as Easter. If that’s not enough for you, there’s also proof that Steve from Stranger Things is Parks and Recreation’s Jean-Ralphio’s dad, teasers for the next seasons of The Flash and Arrow, and more.

Serious Business. American Gods’ Mr. Wednesday is a fascinating character, and I can’t imagine more perfect casting than Ian McShane. Empire shared a new look at McShane as the character, and Mr. Wednesday appears to be engaged in a serious discussion with Ricky Whittle’s Shadow Moon. And bonus: TVLine shared a tweet from series showrunner Bryan Fuller showing a peek at Kristin Chenoweth in costume as Easter. [Images: Starz, Empire, Bryan Fuller]

Festival City! Stars Hollow, the home of Lorelai and Rory in Gilmore Girls, is quirky and charming and hosts more festivals than I can count. And now the real-life town that inspired Stars Hollow–Washington Depot, Connecticut–is going to be home to Gilmore Girls Fan Fest. It’s a thing of beauty, no? Taking place October 21-23, the festival will be filled with events like a knit-a-thon, trivia, and special guests from the series. Learn more right this way.

Get in the Know. Marvel’s Runaways is fleeing straight to Hulu. Not familiar with the story or characters? Dan has you covered with “Everything You Need to Know About Marvel’s Runaways.” Watch it above. [Nerdist]

A Clear Picture. Wednesday’s Mr. Robot took time to focus on characters who were not Elliot, and like Samantha points out, that means we got a delusion-free look at the world. Read her recap of “Successor” here at Nerdist.

Puzzle Pieces. It’s all connected is a tagline we’ve heard before, but this time it’s tied to Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. The BBC America adaptation of the books by Douglas Adams has a premiere date, October 22, and a new teaser says everything is connected… even the kitten heard at the end of the promo. [Nerdist]

Firsties. Seth MacFarlane’s hour-long comedic space drama for Fox might not have a name, but it does have a director for the first episode: Jon Favreau. After running point on the initial episode, he’ll stick around as a consultant. [Deadline]

Parental Ties. If you watched Stranger Things and have also seen Parks and Recreation, Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) probably reminded you of Jean-Ralphio (Ben Schwartz). They very much resemble each other. So, Schwartz appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden and confirmed that yes, Steve is Jean-Ralphio’s dad. He shares how it happened and talked about Jean-Ralphio’s life in the Upside Down. Guys. This is gold. GOLD. If you only make time to watch one video today, make it this one.

Good Grief. Speaking of Stranger Things, hop this way to see some awesome mash-up fan art combining the Netflix show with Peanuts.

House Terrors. AMC’s Shudder, the network’s horror streaming service, has nabbed its first television series. Shudder has the U.S. rights to the French miniseries Beyond the Walls, created by Hervé Hadmar and Marc Herpoux. The story centers on Lisa, as she inherits and old house, moves in, and discovers a parallel world behind the walls. Man, she really should have sprung for that home inspection. [Image: Shudder]

A Memorial. Arrow is back on October 5, and that means it’s time for TV spots to start popping up. This one shows the memorial for Black Canary, hints at Curtis’ training, and more. [Heroic Hollywood]

Time Problems. You want a promo for The Flash, too? Done and done. This quick glimpse promises all sorts of time issues. The show returns with season three on October 4. [IGN]

Salute This Poster. Ash vs. Evil Dead returns to Starz for season two on October 2. That’s only a month away from the U.S. presidential election, so a new poster is going all sorts of patriotic. [CBR, Image: Starz]

Tell me everything you think about the Stranger Things and Parks and Rec connection in the comments. Because I believe it’s perfect.
