New Adversary Mode and More Come to GTA V Online

If you’re still playing Grand Theft Auto Online as much as we are, you’re going to want to login soon to check out what Rockstar just added. A new adversary mode, and two new sports cars are officially available, along with a few more features.

In the new Drop Zone mode, four teams and up to sixteen players will compete to secure locations while under heavy fire. In it, players will parachute from a Cargobob, and race to the ground to attempt to seize and maintain control of a small, exposed patch of territory for at least 2 minutes. Rockstar describes the mode as “fast, chaotic and prone to huge swings in fortune.”

As for the vehicles, the update adds new customizable versions of both the Karin Sultan and Bravado Banshee–which are available for $15,000 and $102,000 respectively. You’ll be able to transform both into wide-body racers at Benny’s Original Customs. There will also be several upgrades available exclusively at Benny’s. When modded, they’re said to rival the speedy Zentorno and T20.

On top of the new additions, Rockstar is hosting a double RP and $ this weekend (1/29-1/31) in all adversary modes, including Drop Zone. There is also double GTA$ in all races, and a ton of discounts. Paratrooper Gear is currently 50% off, and Garage Properties are listed at 25% off.

When you think about how often we see Grand Theft Auto V continue to make headlines, it’s weird to realize that the game came out over three years ago. Probably the most surprising thing is that it always manages to make the top ten when the NPD numbers roll in. Back in December, it came in 6th place, snagging a spot ahead of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege, Minecraft, and even Fifa 16–which is truly a testament to Rockstar’s ability to craft a game that keeps fans interested.
