Get Chocolate Wasted with New Sake-Flavored Kit Kats

In 2010, child actress Alexys Nycole Sanchez made her feature film debut as “Becky Feder” in Adam Sandler’s magnum opus of not giving a shit, Grown Ups. In that movie, her character spoke five little words that echoed across history: “I wanna get chocolate wasted.” While many of us failed to realize the importance of those words at the time, confectionary scientists in Japan quickly got to work, trying to find a way to infuse the mouthwatering sweetness of chocolate with the inhibition-shattering feeling of being wasted. At long last, their research has yielded fruit. Well, candy to be precise. Nestlé has unveiled a new Japan-only flavor of Kit Kat: sake.

These sake-flavored candies are the latest in a long line of Japan-exclusive Kit Kat flavors, joining the likes of green tea, rum raisin, grilled potato, and cherry blossom. For those not in the know, sake is a Japanese rice wine that can either be served hot or cold. (Or delicately balanced on a pair of chopsticks over a mug of beer, eagerly awaiting for you to pound the table and send it to a wheaty grave.) Nestlé was able to infuse the Kit Kats with the taste of sake by massaging sake powder into white chocolate wafers. Wait, that’s it? They just massage it in there? Okay, maybe this won’t get you as turnt up as Grown Ups would have liked, but at least it’s a fair sight more appetizing than Mountain Dew-flavored Cheetos, which are a real thing that actually exists.

The new candy is available in Japan as of February 1, where it comes in a three-box pack for 150 yen ($1.25) or a nine-box pack for 700 yen ($5.75).
