  2. Tausif Khan says:

To the Nerdist Writers Panel Podcast people please give the people asking questions microphones. The time with almost dead air with people asking questions the podcast loses my attention and ruins the flow of the program. I love this idea can’t wait to listen to more.

  3. RobertLovesLOST says:

Thank you for this. Like coup, I need my Damon fix.

  4. c0up says:

Michael – he did say Boardwalk Empire

Thanks for the podcast, guys. It was a wonderfully fascinating listen! Need my Damon Lindelof fix ever since Darlton stopped doing those LOST podcasts just because the show ended. Sheesh.

  5. Michael says:

I need a little help. Towards the end of the program they are asked what shows they are watching etc. And the first person to answer, his first answer, has got me very confuzzled.

Because not only am I sort of unable to hear what he is actually saying. I am also unable to find anything with my Google-Fu that seems to be the right thing, or even relevant to what it sounds like to me. Tried numerous alternate spellings, alternate starting letter etc, and I find nothing that seems relevant at all.

He say’s it shortly after the -4:48 min mark (or the 97:03 mark, if your time-counter counts upwards, rather than “t-minus” like I prefer mine to do).

At first I thought that what he said was “Boardwalk Empire”, which of course is a tv-show, because I was assuming I just heard it wrong. But the more times I repeated it, the more it made me feel that the first words was not “Boardwalk”. To me it mainly sounds like he is saying “Gormak” (which I found is a species in Star Wars), or “Kormak”.

So if anyone could help me with this, it would be much appreciated. Because I am very curious what this thing he was talking about might actually be.

I absolutely loved this, and am beyond eager to listen to some more!

To help pass the time, could anyone recommend similar podcasts that cover the writer’s world on films or television series? Thanks in advance.

  13. Rob O. says:

Exciting! I’ve been waiting for this podcast since Big C mentioned it on his show. The panel line-up was stellar. I can’t wait for more, and hope to hear from novelists/short story authors and video game writers sometime in the future.

    Great first ep. Ben!

  14. Nico says:

Yeah, just started and figured I probably should wait to listen to this until after I finished when I saw that there was a writer from Mad Men but figured it’d be a little later, but oh well. All I can do now is try and help people like us.

  15. ai says:

Thanks for the heads up, Nico. I DID just start watching MM on Netflix and it WAS very spoilery.

  16. JTanzer says:

Thank you for posting this. March 27th was my birthday, so I couldn’t come. I’ll look at this as a delayed present!
