Nerdist School Alum Parodies The Beatles with a Guardian of the Galaxy and It Totally Works

In case you have ever wondered where The Beatles got the inspiration for their folk rock ballad “Rocky Raccoon,” look no further than our favorite recalcitrant summer star, Rocket.

No. Not really. But if you’re Nerdist School Improv program alum Chris Bramante then yes, exactly this. Not only is this musical homage to both The Beatles and Guardians of the Galaxy catchy, it’s also animated and acted beautifully. Take a few minutes out of your day and check it out.

Given the fact that David Sheff, author of All We Are Saying: The Last Major Interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono, recounts an anecdote of musical improv from Paul McCartney in the writing and recording of “Rocky Raccoon,” it is a perfect fit for an improviser from the Nerdist family.

The Nerdist School is located in Los Angeles and is committed to teaching future writers and performers by offering a variety of classes in improv, sketch, TV writing, storytelling, animation, and more. And! Students and alumnae have the opportunity to perform at The Nerdist Showroom at Meltdown Comics. You can explore the class options, and sign up if something looks too good to pass up, at http://www.nerdist.com/school/classes/ .

If you love Bramante’s take on Rocky Raccoon, here are a couple more Nerdist students we love. From Minhdzuy Khorami, For Your Consideration (We Don’t Need No Emmy Tonight). From Bill Posley, House of Crips (a House of Cards parody). From Ricky Sans, Settle.com. And finally, because who doesn’t love an #IceBucketChallenge and a good parody, from Nicole V and Middlespoon, An Ice Bucket Challenge Parody. All are students of The Nerdist School.
