MY LITTLE PONY Will Ride Into a Theater Near You in 2017

Okay, you can’t see us right now, but our faces are covered with gigantic, childish grins.

That’s right, My Little Pony is finally getting its own movie! Well, another movie—there was that one in 1986 with Danny DeVito as the inscrutable Grundle King (never forget). But still: My Little Pony, set to be bigger and badder (badder being better!), will hit theaters on November 3, 2017 (uh-oh, the same day as Thor: Ragnarok) for all the bronies out there.

This new movie will follow our favorite pony pals—Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity—as they venture off on a journey to save their home. Kristin Chenoweth will voice a new character alongside My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic television series veterans Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain, and Ashleigh Ball reprising their regular characters. It’ll be directed by Jayson Theissen and written by Meghan McCarthy, who have also been working with the Ponies for a long time.

I personally can’t wait to take my niece to the movie (yes: my niece! A very legitimate excuse). But really, who doesn’t want to re-visit the magical friendship-filled land of pretty pastel-colored ponies? Not to mention, the songs! Here’s the theme from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic to get you feeling that warm, yummy nostalgia.
