Music Geek Track Of The Day: Nick Offerman Directed Tweedy’s ‘Low Key’ Video featuring Conan and More!

While we patiently wait for the Parks & Recreation season 7 air date (and by patiently I mean we are ripping strangers’ hair out and trying to resist dry-heaving from anticipation), Nick Offerman and Parks & Rec alum Jeff Tweedy have bestowed upon us something that should do more than enough to temporarily distract us from the fact that we will only get one more perfect season of Leslie Knope. He has directed an adorable and ludicrous video for Tweedy, a newly formed, father-son band from, you guessed it, Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy and his megatalented offspring, Spencer.

The star-studded music video features John Hodgman, Conan O’Brien, Chance The Rapper, Andy Richter, Steve Albini, Michael Shannon, and a handful of others all rejecting the Tweedys new album as they try to hawk their album as door-to-door salesmen . Throughout the course of this increasingly ridiculous narrative (gives new meaning “There’s always money in the banana stand”), you’ll envy how awesome Nick Offerman and Tweedy’s combined cellphone contact lists are, and how their phone don’t just shut down from too much awesomeness. I’ve seen phones break from far less, i.e. cats (Damn you, Ramona!).

There is definitely a quaint Wes Anderson vibe to the whole affair which combines naturally with the Wilco nostalgia of the subdued folk missive. Tweedy’s voice has been missed and his new family album, Sukierae, will remind you of the sleepier tracks from Being There and simpler times. So watch it for the music, the insane plot, and all the celebrity friends who make a cameo.
