Listen guys, you don’t officially have the song of the summer until someone cuts up President Obama’s public addresses to make him unwittingly speak-sing along to the lyrics. So what I am saying is, today is the day that I will officially, if begrudgingly, call “Fancy” the Top 40 song of the summer. The only thing I was hoping for in this video that did not deliver was for Michelle to have been tapped for Charli XCX’s part, but perhaps there wasn’t enough accessible footage?

What the people of America really need next is an edited video of the Commander In Chief tackling “Handy” by “Weird Al.” My guess, though, is that its going to be a bit too difficult to make Obama say “formica counter” fluidly enough.

I have been intentionally avoiding this song all summer (it;s cool if you like it; it’s cool if you don’t; we’re all friends here) but now, despite my best efforts, it is stuck in my head. THANKS, OBAMA. I guess its time to watch Chris Pratt rap along to “Forgot About Dre” again to try and distract myself.
