Music Geek Track of the Day: ‘Foreva’ By Goodbye Chanel Is As Warm As A Space Heater

For many of you out there, tomorrow is going to be brutally cold. I am sorry and I feel your pain deep in my bones. In thinking back about why I decided to move away from Chicago, the possibility of -40 windchill days was definitely the largest contributing factor. The way I combated that however, was with a laughably large parka, a shitty beard, and plenty of music that made me feel like I was walking along a humid beach in Central America.

Something that I kept on my playlist from one of last year’s late polar vortex batteries was the jangly, semi-tropical guitar-driven pop song from the band Goodbye Chanel. First of all, this song kicks off a quick album titled Hot City Nights, so on a subconscious level, the track has primed you to feel the warmth emanating through your headphones, which double as earmuffs because it is too cold for skin-to-air contact. The album cover depicting what has to be Pacific Coast Highway in California is the perfect visual representation for the steamy sounds that rise off the reverb from the vocals and guitars from the UK-based group.

Check out “Foreva” below and let us know what songs are on your winter playlists!
