Music Geek Track Of The Day: ‘Bite Down’ By Bastille Feat. HAIM

While most of us were indulging on our third meal of leftover turkey and stuffing, Bastille cooked up a new song that pits the British alt-pop quartet against fellow rockers, Haim.

Not only is the song sort of an anti-love anthem, but it’s also a great display of musical versatility for Bastille frontman Dan Smith, whose vocals mesh perfectly with all three Haim sisters. When Smith was recently asked about the collaboration, he told DIY Magazine, “When Haim came in, they all sang, Danielle played guitar because she’s wicked at it. Este did some bass stuff, we did some programming, I wrote it but it all actually happened in one evening. Three or four hours.”

According to Haim, that “evening” was one that started at the bar and ended at the studio.

Regardless of the liquid courage that went into getting the tune on tape, we can’t help but swoon over the result, which is something we plan to play on repeat all day.

Join us, won’t you?

“Bite Down” comes off the band’s upcoming album, VS (Other People’s Heartache Pt. III), which comes out December 9 on Virgin.
