The first trailer for Dreamworks Animation’s newest film Mr. Peabody & Sherman is here; take a look at it, and then we’ll discuss it a bit:
The official description:
Mr. Peabody (Ty Burrell), the most accomplished dog in the world, and his mischievous boy Sherman (Max Charles), use their time machine – The Wabac – to go on the most outrageous adventures known to man or dog. But when Sherman takes The Wabac out for a joyride to impress his friend Penny, they accidently rip a hole in the universe, wreaking havoc on the most important events in world history.  Before they forever alter the past, present and future, Mr. Peabody must come to their rescue, ultimately facing the most daunting challenge of any era: figuring out how to be a parent. Together, the time traveling trio will make their mark on history.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman started out as a short segment on the The Bullwinkle Show called Peabody’s Improbable History. Together, the dog and his pet boy would travel to a different point in the past and interact with various historical figures such as Juan Ponce de León, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Edgar Allan Poe.

The sad fact is ,if they were not using the characters I have loved since childhood ,I might of given the movie a chance . The story seems fine for a modern day animated film ,but I guess they wanted to use a familiar brand to market on nostalgia .
In Name Only. Even their expresions don’t match the “feel” of the originals. Honestly, not interested. Will watch it on TV though. Don’t know why they bothered using the original characters.
If there is no June Foray, there is no Sherman.
