See How Every Movie Robot and Monster Compares in Size

Movie robots and monsters come in all shapes and sizes, from the very small to the impossibly large. But just how wide is that range? How mammoth are giant big screen creatures compared to one another? Is Colossal Titan bigger than a kaiju from Pacific Rim? How does the Iron Giant stack up against Optimus Prime? Well you can stop spending countless hours debating those very important questions, because now you can actually see firsthand with these great size comparison videos. Which also raises a far more important question: who would win the ultimate showdown between the most famous beasts in film and their movie machine counterparts?

The great YouTube channel MetalBallStudios has lined up some of cinema’s most famous robots so you can appreciate just exactly how big they are compared to each other, starting at the bottom with the Minority Report‘s spider bots (seven inches), all the way up to Doctor Who‘s CyberKing (525 feet).

But what’s a giant robot without a memorable leviathan to fight, which is why we also got this monster size comparison video, which goes from Monsters, Inc‘s Mike Wazowski (a little over two feet tall), all way (way, way) up to the Exogorth from The Empire Strikes Back, a creature so large we don’t want to spoil it for you.

So now that you’ve seen them, who ya got? Before watching these our instinct was to go with the robots, but it’s impossible to ignore how much more terrifying and bigger the monsters are than the machines, so we’ll take the beasts. Especially because all of them could ride the Exogorth into battle. There’s not a robot big enough to defeat a Clover riding a 2,900 foot space worm.

What other monsters and robots not included here would you like to see added to these lineups? Tell us in the comments below.
