Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Casting proceeds on the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, based on J.K. Rowling’s bestseller. Singer-songwriter Alison Sudol is set to make her big-screen acting debut as Queenie, kid sister to Tina (Katherine Waterston), who encounters Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) when he visits New York City in the course of his adventures tracking down the book’s titular critters. Josh Gad and John Krasinski are reportedly now being considered as Jacob for the David Yates-directed film, which will be scripted by Rowling herself.

Batman and Bat Signal

And just in case you missed it, yes, Ben Affleck will direct and co-write a solo Batman movie after debuting as the Dark Knight in next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. DC Comics’ Geoff Johns will collaborate with Affleck on the script.
