Movie Morsels: New STAR WARS: FORCE AWAKENS and ANT-MAN Images, Plus the Latest on INHUMANS

Happy holidays, folks! Hope y’all had a relaxing yuletide weekend and that you’re gearing up for an equally awesome New Year’s Eve. But before we bid 2014 adieu, we’ve got the latest looks at Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Marvel’s Ant-Man, as well as a new Inhumans tease, a video interview with Lana Del Rey on her title tune from the soundtrack of Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, and a trailer for the long-awaited cinematic pairing of Jackie Chan and… John Cusack?!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

For longtime Star Wars fans, there was no sight in The Force Awakens trailer more welcome than that of the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy blazing its way through a squadron of TIE Fighters. So we’re pretty darn delighted that Fortune magazine is offering us two new shots of the Millennium Falcon in the upcoming film — due out on December 18, 2015 — via its latest issue, featuring an interview with Disney CEO Bob Iger. Check out both images below.

Ant-Man

Hey Marvel Maniacs! We’ve got a new look at the title character in next summer’s Ant-Man, as well as a revealing glimpse of the film’s villain Yellowjacket, as played by Corey Stoll, thanks to a new banner from UK licensee Aykroyd & Sons

Inhumans

And in other Marvel movie news… You may recall that Vin “I Am Groot” Diesel began dropping hints last August that he would be in the Inhumans movie. Well, the fabulous Vinny D has just dropped a much bigger one via Facebook:

Inhumans

Still no word on who fanboy Diesel will play in the upcoming epic, but let the guessing games begin. I, for one, think it would be a hoot an a half if the fellow who spoke but four words in Guardians of the Galaxy was, in his next Marvel film, to play the Inhumans’ leader Black Bolt, who speaks not at all save for when he unleashes his own mighty superpower! What say you?

Big Eyes

Tim Burton’s latest hit theaters this holiday weekend, and while Big Eyes hasn’t warmed the winter box office, we here at Movie Morsels think this biopic about painter Margaret Keane and her ne’er-do-well husband Walter (who, for many years, took all the credit for his wife’s work) is still well worth seeing for Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz’s performances alone. It’s also got a title track by Lana Del Rey, a video interview on which has just been released online.

Dragon Blade

Martial arts master Jackie Chan has taken part in some odd collaborations before, from Owen Wilson to Jennifer Love Hewitt, but none of his prior screen pairings have been so quiet so bizarre as his latest — with dry-witted Gen X actor John Cusack in the sixty-five-million-dollar (hugely budgeted by Chinese standards) historical actioner Dragon Blade . According to Variety, the film “set in 206-220 A.D….focuses on a key (fictional) battle between Rome and China’s Han Dynasty. It follows Chinese officer Chan, who’s framed and later enslaved, and Roman soldier John Cusack, who escapes to China after rescuing the Prince.” Adding to the offbeat casting is Adrien Brody, who plays General Tiberius, leader of the Roman army. The film opens in China on February 19th, but a U.S. distributor has not yet been announced. We can, however, enjoy the film’s brand-new trailer, which has just landed online.

  1. IMDbag says:

Vin diesel said 5 words in Guardians of the Galaxy.

  2. Taylor Anne says:

Okay I tried to do some research to see how they would explain this and came up empty handed – Does anyone know how they are going to make Yellowjacket a villain when that is another one of Pym’s aliases? Is it just going to be the same as Lang and he’ll steal the tech?

    • Yeehah1 says:

Pym did become Yellowjacket for a time but after a breakdown he was jailed and the suit was taken by someone else, a woman whose name I cannot remember. I am not sure if Pym ever took the Yellowjacket i.d. back but he is, or was, currently using the i.d Wasp in memory of Janet Pym, his wife (ex?) who was thought dead, but has since been found alive.
