Movie Morsels: New BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Batman Photo

Even as we’re still processing everything we saw and heard at this weekend’s Comic-Con 2015, Hollywood’s studios are offering us more info and images on their upcoming films. Case in point: today’s Movie Morsels, where we have a striking new image of the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a logo for X-Men: Apocalypse, the latest on Thor: Ragnarok, that Suicide Squad trailer everyone is talking about, and more!

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

If you thought the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer that debuted at Comic-Con offered the only new images from the film that you’d see this week, you would be incorrect. Check out this dynamic image of the Dark Knight as played by Ben Affleck in the Zack Snyder-directed super team-up sequel to Man of Steel. It’s a gift from set photographer Clay Enos. Is it just me or does this remind anyone else of DC’s Gotham by Gaslight comic and its resulting spinoff, ACL’s Gaslight Gotham (pictured above)?

X-Men: Apocalypse

In the wake of this weekend’s X-Men: Apocalypse panel at Comic-Con and yesterday’s first X-Men: Apocalypse poster and the public reveal of Oscar Isaac’s villain, we now have our first look at… the film’s logo! Okay, it’s a little less exciting than what preceded it, but I’m so psyched for this film, so I’m take anything. I guess that means I’m not just psyched, I’m psylocked! (Ouch!)

X-Men: Apocalypse

Director Bryan Singer’s next X-Men film arrives on May 27th and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Oscar Isaac, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, Lucas Till, Ben Hardy, Lana Condor, and Olivia Munn.

Thor: Ragnarok

Wondering if Jaimie Alexander will have time for a third go as Marvel’s Asgardian goddess Sif now that she’s starring in NBC’s upcoming weekly thriller Blindspot? Check out what the actress had to say about Thor: Ragnarok at Comic-Con…

Thor: Ragnarok, co-starring Chris Hemsworth, opens on November 3, 2017.

Suicide Squad

As we reported yesterday, the first look at Suicide Squad that premiered at Comic-Con is now online for one and all to enjoy. Director David Ayer’s adaptation of the DC supervillain team lands on August 5, 2016, and stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne and Viola Davis.

And don’t forget to check out the version of the trailer that we here at Nerdist thought we would see:

She’s Funny That Way

Two of the most beautiful-in-a-quirky-way blondes around partner up for director Peter Bogdanovich’s first feature film in thirteen years. Owen Wilson and Imogen Poots lead a cast that includes Kathryn Hahn, Rhys Ifans, Jennifer Aniston, and Will Forte in the backstage screwball romantic comedy, She’s Funny That Way. Here’s hoping the filmmaker taps into his ’70s self to give us another What’s Up Doc? Check out the new trailer:

Wreck-It Ralph

Wreck-It Ralph

Finally, in case you missed it yesterday, actor John C. Reilly will return to star in — but most certainly not wreck — Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph 2.
