Movie Morsels: Kit Harrington and Carice van Houten reteam for BRIMSTONE

Wondering what Kit Harrington is up to after the recent, er, events on HBO’s Game of Thrones? Turns out he and his co-star Carice van Houten (the hissable Melisandre) will again be sharing the screen in the dark thriller Brimstone. Also in today’s Movie Morsels, we have the latest on Black Panther and Ant-Man, three new Terminator Genisys video spots, news of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first post-Terminator project, 478, the trailer for Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, and more!

Black Panther

Black Panther

Is Selma director Ava DuVernay taking the helm of Marvel’s Black Panther? Marvel hasn’t confirmed, though MCU Exchange says DuVernay’s hiring is a done deal. Marvel chief Kevin Feige, however, has stated in a new interview that Marvel has “met with her for sure. We’ve met with a number of people for a number of movies. She has been one of them.”

Ant-Man

Ant-Man 12

Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang is all action in the latest extended spot for Marvel’s Ant-Man, in which the funnyman co-stars with Evangeline Lilly and Michael Douglas. Peyton Reed’s shrunken superhero spectacle opens on July 17th. The spot offers new footage, and can only be viewed via Entertainment Weekly.

Brimstone

After losing Robert Pattinson, the movie Brimstone has acquired a new star in the form of Game of Thrones‘ Kit Harrington. Interestingly enough, the actor will perform alongside his fellow Thrones cast member Carice van Houten (whose character on HBO’s fantasy hit is believed by many to play a key role in the fate of Harrington’s Jon Snow). Written and directed by Martin Koolhoven, Brimstone features Dakota Fanning as “a heroine on the run from her past” and hunted by “the diabolical Preacher,” played by Guy Pearce. Brimstone has just begun shooting in Romania, Spain, and Germany.

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension

“Every secret will be revealed.” That’s the big promise made by the upcoming sixth film in producer Oren Peli, Blumhouse and Paramount’s Paranormal Activity franchise. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, which marks the feature film directorial debut of Gregory Plotkin, arrives on October 23rd. Here’s the official trailer:

478

Terminator Genisys 3

Hey, speaking of Ah-nold, we now know what film the former Gubernator will headline following Terminator Genisys: 478, written by Javier Gullon, who scripted the Jake Gyllenhaal-starrer Enemy. Darren Aronofsky’s production company Protozoa will begin shooting in the fall. Deadline says the film will be more of a character study than an action thriller, and that Schwarzenegger will play a man who loses his wife and child in a plane crash, and is out for revenge against the air traffic controller who caused the crash.
