Movie Morsels: Hugh Jackman Reveals Top Fan Requests for WOLVERINE 3

After perhaps his strongest showing yet in last summer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, we’re gonna miss the heck out of Hugh Jackman when he finally retires from the role that made him a superstar. But it sounds like the actor is doing all he can to go out on a high note, and he’s just confirmed that he’s heard what fans would like to see most in Wolverine 3. Also in today’s Movie Morsels, we’ve got a new look at Johnny Depp‘s Black Mass, word on a Purge Halloween attraction, the latest on the sixth Resident Evil film, the poster for Jennifer Lawrence‘s latest, and more!

Wolverine 3

After inviting fans to tell him what they’d like to see in his third Wolverine solo film, and his final screen appearance as the perennially popular mutant, Hugh Jackman has announced on the Australian podcast Sydney Confidential that the biggest requests were for more of arch-foe Sabretooth (a.k.a. Victor Creed) and Wolvie’s trademark “berserker rage”…

“”There were a lot of calls for Victor Creed to come back, there was… I must admit I was quite heartened by a number of people saying please don’t make it the last, but I’m really excited about this last one, and if you’re a comic book fan, then the words ‘berserker rage’ came up a lot, so if you know Wolverine, you’ll understand.”

Directed by James Mangold, the film will arrive in early 2017.

Black Mass

A new TV spot has arrived for Black Mass, showcasing even more of Johnny Depp’s scarily intense Boston gangster Whitey Bulger. Co-starring Kevin Bacon, Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Edgerton, Sienna Miller, and Dakota Johnson, and directed by Scott Cooper, the crime thriller opens on September 18th.

Resident Evil 6

Resident Evil

Returning Resident Evil star Ali Larter is assuring us that the franchise’s sixth film will indeed be its last. Speaking with IGN, the actress remarked, “I know it is [the final film]… How many movies have this kind of fanbase and get to be made six times? I think that’s extraordinary. It’s a total testament to [series star] Milla [Jovovich] and Paul. I’m so grateful to them, that they chose me to be a part of it halfway through, and they’ve kept me along for the ride. I love that it’s not seven men and one woman. I mean, these are two women, and they’re not competing with each other. You know, there are such easy clichés these two could fall into, but this is definitely a female power movie.” Resident Evil 6 arrives on January 27, 2017.

The Purge

Universal Studios has announced that new attractions based on Blumhouse’s ongoing The Purge series will debut at its theme parks’ Hallloween Horror Nights this year. Terror Tram: Survive the Purge will debut at Universal Studios Hollywood on September 18, while Universal Orlando will offer guests a Purge scare maze. Here’s a creepy new video introducing this holiday event:

The next screen chapter of the franchise, The Purge 3, debuts on July 1, 2016.
