Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Though J.J. Abrams has said there won’t be any more Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailers before the film’s release on December 18th, we still saw new footage in the most recent TV spot, and now we’ll be getting even more in a new preview coming this Thursday, November 12th, on ABC during the networks “Shondaland” block of shows — Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder. Shonda Rhimes has offered a tease via Twitter…

Starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Max von Sydow, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will open in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D.


Ghost in the Shell


Major Motoko Kusanagi’s righthand man Batou has been cast in the live-action Ghost in the Shell movie starring Scarlett Johansson. The actress’ Lucy co-star Pilou Asbæk won the role in director Rupert Sanders’ adaptation of the hit anime film, due out on March 31, 2017. Expect Asbæk to score a huge fan following beforehand, since he’ll also appear in the next season of Game of Thrones.


The Finest Hours

We’ve got the first poster for Disney’s nautical drama The Finest Hours, based on the real-life story of a 1952 Coast Guard rescue mission to aid two oil tankers in peril. Craig Gillespie directs a cast that included Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, Eric Bana, and Ben Foster. The Finest Hours opens on January 29, 2016.
