Oh Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley, as if we didn’t love you enough… Whether or not Yoda actually appears in Star Wars: Episode VIII, the film’s resident Jedi and Padawan are doggedly channeling his spirit in the latest behind-the-scenes pic from the film, tweeted by Hamill himself for Ridley’s birthday. Adorable doesn’t begin to describe it…

X-Men: Apocalypse
Last week we got a slew of character posters from what looks to be director Bryan Singer‘s final X-Men film, X-Men: Apocalyspe. And today we have two additional posters featuring some of the film’s most enigmatic characters, the titular villain himself (played by Oscar Isaac), and the fourth of his Four Horsemen, the high-flying Angel (Ben Hardy). Thankfully, Apocalypse looks a lot less like Ivan Ooze here than he has in other images…

Kingsman: The Golden Circle
Like most Game of Thrones fans, I still miss Pedro Pascal‘s Oberyn, that laughing, leaping, swordsman with the oh-so-crushable skull. Fortunately, the actor will soon be back in the genre spotlight — he’s signed on for the increasingly eclectic cast of Kingsman: The Golden Circle as a character named Jack Daniels. Matthew Vaughn’s sequel has already enlisted the services of Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, the returning Taron Egerton and Edward Holcroft, and, if speculation proves true, Colin Firth.

The Goon
Few comic books have had such a long, troubled road in reaching the big screen as cartoonist Eric Powell’s The Goon. But things may finally be looking up for the tongue-in-cheek horror title, thanks to a certain Wade Wilson. Deadpool director Tim Miller, who is set to co-direct the Goon animated movie, tells Collider that the Merc with a Mouth’s success may be trickling down to the indie fan-favorite character…
“If Deadpool shined any light in the direction of the studio, we wanna use some of that light to shine it on Goon. So we’ve been doing a lot of work lately, we did some voiceover last week I do think that there is a corollary. Deadpool proves it, in a big way, that there is a market for this stuff out there… Goon has a lot of heart, it’s got a lot of comedy, it’s got a lot of similarities to what I think was successful in Deadpool, and so I think it’s not a stretch to compare those two things and say the world is a little more ready than they used to be for this kind of material. In the past, there’s reasons why The Goon wasn’t made, it’s because people were afraid of edgy animation. Now I think that Deadpool has proved that that audience is out there in a bigger way than some people thought.”

The first trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is set to debut today. A Futile and Stupid Gesture
Director David Wain’s upcoming feature-film biography of National Lampoon co-founder Doug Kenney has secured a few new actors to join its roster of real-life comedians who got their start with the magazine’s live stage show. Joining the already cast Will Forte (as Kenney), Domhnall Gleeson (as fellow co-founder Henry Beard), and Joel McHale (as Chevy Chase) in A Futile and Stupid Gesture are Broad City‘s John Gemberling as John Belushi, Rick Glassman as Harold Ramis, Jon Daly as Bill Murray, and the above-pictured Seth Green as Christopher Guest.
