While springtime surrounds us, the flowers aren’t the only thing in bloom these days. We’ve also got a fresh bouquet of big movie news for your olfactory enjoyment. In today’s Movie Morsels, you can get a whiff of the first-ever photo from Alien: Covenant, the latest X-Men: Apocalypse TV spot, a new photo from Fast 8, and much more!
Alien: Covenant
In case you missed it among the many celebrations and new marketing announcements on this week’s Alien Day, it looks like the “Covenant” in Alien: Covenant isn’t just a clever name. Ridley Scott’s next Alien movie incorporates the design of the fabled Ark of the Covenant into its very crew badges; which are also reminiscent of those used in the original Alien film. Fox has released the first ever photo from the August 4, 2017 release…
Alien: Covenant stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez, Billy Crudup, Alexander England and Benjamin Rigby.
X-Men: Apocalypse
The latest X-Men: Apocalypse TV spot is here! One of many we’re sure to get over the next month, it features Evan Peters’ Quicksilver in all his shiny, fleet-footed glory…
Director Brian Singer’s fourth (and final?) X-Men film stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn and Lucas Till.
Fast 8
Vin Diesel just shard the above new photo from his upcoming Fast 8. Yes, those who were worried can rest assured that Dominic Toretto will wear his cross and chain once more in the next installment of the Fast and Furious saga, when it roars into theaters on April 14, 2017. Of greater excitement is some new spy footage of the film that was shot by a local news station in the streets of Cuba. It captures one of the fiery high-speed chases we’ll see in Fast 8…

The Dark Tower
And the latest actor to join the cast of The Dark Tower adaptation is… Vikings star Katheryn Winnick. There’s no word yet on who Winnick will play, but she’ll join Idris Elba (as Roland the Gunslinger), Matthew McConaughey (as the Man in Black), and Tom Taylor. Nikolaj Arcel directs the February 17, 2017 release, based on Stephen King’s mega-successful series of novels.

My Little Pony
Finally today, I bring thee word from the happy land of Ponyville… Lionsgate has moved the release date for their My Little Pony movie forward by one month. That means you’ll be able to see Twilight Sparkle and her friends on the big screen on October 6, 2017 instead of November 3, 2017. You see, friendship really is magic!
