Movie Morsels: A CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Behind-the-Scenes Video, and More

Happy Friday, Morselers! There’s some great stuff to see in theaters today, including Zootopia, 10 Cloverfield Lane, and (if you can find it) The Witch. But before you do so, check out what we’ve got for you today about the films in our future, including a new poster for X-Men: Apocalypse, a behind-the-scenes video for Captain America: Civil War, the latest casting news on Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, and more!

X-Men: Apocalypse

Earlier this week we showed you a new X-Men: Apocalypse poster, featuring the titular arch-villain and his four fearsome Horsemen. Now we have another new poster depicting who these baddies will be battling: Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), the Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), and everyone’s favorite Marvel speedster Quicksilver (Evan Peters), along with their beloved Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy)…

X-Men: Apocalypse

I’ll admit it’s still weird for me to see this roster of students enrolled in Xavier’s School at the same time, seeing as how I grew up with Chris Claremont’s X-Men comic book of the ’70s and ’80s, and will forever view Jean Grey, Cyclops, Beast, Angel, and Iceman as the school’s founding members, with Nightcrawler joining alongside Wolverine, Storm, and Colossus much later, and Quicksilver and Mystique… well, never really joining my team at all. But when you have an Oscar winner like Lawrence signed for a third and final film in her contract, you have to give her something substantial to do. Besides, Bryan Singer’s X-films have never followed the comics’ canon much anyway. So I’m as psyched as anyone for May 27.

The Dark Tower

The Dark Tower

Ladies and gentlemen, we have our Jake Chambers! Newcomer Tom Taylor will play Roland Deschain’s sidekick in the upcoming series of movies based on Stephen King’s bestselling saga The Dark Tower. Taylor will join Idris Elba as Roland, Matthew McConaughey as the Man in Black, and Mad Max: Fury Road‘s Abby Lee in a yet unannounced role. It’s a smart move to go with a new actor for Jake, since much of the initial story will be told through his young eyes.

Captain America: Civil War

After yesterday’s huge trailer drop for Captain America: Civil War, we’re counting down the days until the film’s May 6 release. Thankfully, Marvel’s new behind-the-scenes video gives us something to watch in the meantime…

Where’s Waldo

Well, where is Waldo? I mean, the guy’s been getting lost for, what, 30 years? Why can’t he stay found?! Seth Rogen and his partner Evan Goldberg may soon have an answer for us. They’ve just signed on to produce the long-in-development film adaptation of the popular children’s book series by Martin Handford for MGM.

Kubo and the Two Strings

Kubo and the Two Strings

Finally today… If you haven’t see the trailer we brought you yesterday for Laika’s latest animated epic Kubo and the Two Strings, then do yourself a favor and check it out pronto here. It’s all kinds of gorgeous, and, for my money, the most enticing looking film the studio’s offered since Coraline.
