Mondo Unveils Bizarro Vinyl to Celebrate SUPERMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES

Superman shouldn’t be the only one to have all the fun. Having just announced their Superman: The Animated Series LP, which includes Shirley Walker’s beautiful score pressed into a die-cut vinyl in the shape Superman’s insignia, Mondo has decided pull a 180 and give Bizarro his own special record.

For this alternate LP, the show’s title and end themes are pressed on purple vinyl with a backwards “S” logo on the B-Side, in honor of one of Superman’s best and most iconic villains. As most Superman fans are aware, Bizarro is Superman’s clone that came out just a little bit, shall we say, not-right-in-the-head, and does everything backwards, including wearing a backwards “S” on his chest. The release also includes the title and end themes from The New Batman / Superman Adventures.

In honor of Bizarro’s backward nature, this release includes a neat little trick that requires you to place the needle on the inner-most groove of the vinyl, as the record plays from the inside out. (it should be noted his record will not work with players that have an automatic recall function, so buyers are reminded to please purchase with caution). The artwork for this release comes from Phantom City Creative.

Side A will feature the following tracks:

01. Superman: The Animated Series – Main Title (1:07)
02. Superman: The Animated Series – End Credits (0:35)
03. The New Batman / Superman Adventures – Main Title (1:05)
04. The New Batman / Superman Adventures – End Credits (0:35)

Bizarro Superman: The Animated Series – Die-Cut Single is limited to 1,000 copies, with a limit of 1 per customer. The single goes on sale Wednesday, October 14, 2015 for $25 at the Mondo shop.

With Batman and Superman out of the way, lets hope the folks at Mondo continue with vinyl releases of Batman Beyond and Justice League Unlimited. How cool would that be?
