Mike Dougherty, the writer/director responsible for the Halloween anthology favorite Trick ‘R Treat has been teasing his holiday horror movie Krampus for a while now. The film is still one year away, due out December 2015, and last week a special delivery for all the bad little girls and boys arrived online by way of digital Krampus Cards!
The note included read:
âFilmmaker Michael Dougherty provides horror fans a holiday present â an early glimpse into his dark Yuletide horror film Krampus, scheduled for release holiday season 2015. As Christmas trees burn and shadows fall, this set of three twisted ‘Krampus Cards’ showcase the darker side of the holiday and provide a fun, shareable look at Michaelâs subversive vision for the film… So, enjoy the cards and have a wonderful holiday season from Legendary Pictures, Michael Dougherty and Krampus.â
For those who don’t know, Krampus is based on the holiday legend about the Christmas devil who punishes wicked little girls and boys. Described as a horror comedy, Dougherty’s film was co-written by Todd Casey and Zach Shields. Check out the awesome .gifs teasing the new movie below!
It’s been a long time since we’ve gotten a new holiday horror classic and if anybody can launch the Christmas devil into the public mainstream, I have no doubt it’s Dougherty! I can’t wait for Krampus to arrive next year. In the meantime, what are some of your favorite holiday horrors?
Oh man I can’t wait for this. Trick r Treat has become my all time favorite horror movie. So I have complete faith in Micheal Doughtery and know that he’s gonna deliver another horror masterpiece.
