MIDDLE-EARTH: SHADOW OF WAR Clip Shows Off Stellar Worlds and Gameplay

It’s time to make a glorious return to Middle-earth with Monolith’s Shadow of War. This highly anticipated follow-up to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (which we loved) promises to even bigger spectacle, brimming with massive battles to go along with the highly innovative Nemesis system. A new trailer has dropped showcasing some of the gorgeous vistas you’ll be able to explore and conquer when the title finally hits shelves–take a look!

The clip gives us a peek at the Island of Núrn, Cirith Ungol, and Gorgoroth, all of which are significant locations in Lord of the Rings lore. So far, each one looks fantastic. There are even shots of the different abilities you’ll be able to master; from the looks of things, the fights may boast an even larger scale than they do in the first game. The original’s combat and Nemesis system were already stellar, so one can only hope those elements of the game are fine-tuned rather than overhauled.

As of right now, very little is known about the game aside from the fact that it will continue the story of its predecessor, which takes place between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. We will likely learn a whole lot more in a few weeks during this year’s E3 Expo. Hopefully we’ll get a better idea of the gameplay and any possible improvements that were made to the awesome Shadow of Mordor. Stay tuned, folks.

Noticed anything in the trailer that makes you excited for this sequel? Which characters from The Lord of the Rings franchise do you want to see in Shadow of War? And will Gollum make a comeback? Drop your thoughts into the comments section below!
