Meet The GHOSTBUSTERS in 4 New Character Posters

Only a day after the first official image of the new Ghostbusters debuted, Sony Pictures has unleashed four character posters for the leading ladies of the Ghostbusters revival.

Keep in mind, this is a hard reboot of the entire Ghostbusters franchise. Dan Akyroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver are all making cameos in the new Ghostbusters film, but this is a completely separate world from the one in the original ‘84 film.

Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig)

The first poster debuted on Entertainment Weekly, where Kristen Wiig described her character as a “particle physicist, academic firebrand, spectral warrior” who enjoys fighting the supernatural.

Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon)

Kate McKinnon’s spotlight poster was premiered on Time’s website, where Ghostbusters director Paul Figg described her character, Jillian Holtzmann, as a “nuclear engineer, munitions expert, proton wrangler.”

Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy)

Ghostbusters Melissa McCarthy

People Magazine had the first look at Melissa McCarthy’s Abby Yates, but declined to share any information about Abby’s character. Fortunately, we already know that Abby co-authored a book about the supernatural with Erin Gilbert.

Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones)

Ghostbusters Leslie Jones

Finally, InStyle had the reveal of Leslie Jones’ Patty Tolan, the everywoman on the new Ghostbusters team. Feig told InStyle that Patty is a “ghost tracker, municipal historian, metaphysical commando.” She’s also a former subway worker who stumbles upon the film’s supernatural threat before joining the team.

The threat discovered by Patty will link back to Rowan (Neil Casey), the main villain of the Ghostbusters reboot. Chris Hemsworth co-stars as the Ghostbusters’ secretary, Kevin, with Andy García, Cecily Strong, Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh, Pat Kiernan, and Charles Dance in supporting roles.

Ghostbusters will haunt theaters on July 15, 2016.
