Mattel Reveals DC Trinity Barbies for BATMAN V SUPERMAN

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is now a little less than two months away, and with the film comes an avalanche of movie merchandise. There will be action figures (of course) and t-shirts, posters, travel mugs, and… yes, there will also be a series of collector Barbie dolls.

While a grim and angry Ben Affleck as Batman Barbie — or rather, Batfleck as Ken — may seem a little wacky, toy company Mattel has the overall DC Comics license, so it makes sense that they would want to extend it to their Barbie brand. And they’ve done it before, releasing the very cool series “Ladies of the DC Universe” line a few years back, as well as some dolls based on the classic 1966 Batman TV show.

Batman is joined by a figure based on Henry Cavill’s Superman and a VERY cool looking Barbie based on Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. From what we can tell in the preview images, the dolls look a great deal like their movie counterparts, although the color palette here seems a lot brighter than in the movie. I actually kind of wish the ones in the movie were this bright and cheerful as well.

If you hit up the Barbie Online shop right now, all three members of the DC Trinity are available for pre-order right now for $39.95 a pop, with an estimated release date of March 1. And while you’re at it, you can also buy this cool Zombie Bride Barbie as well. Yes, folks — we live in a world where they make Zombie Bride Barbie. Nerds have officially won.
