A Marvel Universe-Themed Land is Headed to Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland!

It is finally official: The heroes and villains of the Marvel Universe are soon heading to the Disneyland Resort. This is in addition to the already announced Marvel-themed expansions coming to Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland; all of these new lands are being developed in partnership with Marvel Studios and Marvel Themed Entertainment.

The first official details were revealed on Marvel.com. At Disneyland Resort, the new feature will begin recruiting guests starting in 2020, with even more new experiences to follow. The Guardians of the Galaxy ride, already present in the park, will be joined by Spider-Man and the Avengers to form a completely immersive superhero universe, furthering the evolution of Disney California Adventure park.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! will anchor the new land, in the territory now currently occupied by “A Bug’s Land.” The “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” attraction closed March 19 to make way for this new heroic experience, while the rest of the land will close in late summer. Judging from the poster above, expect to see Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum, as well as an Avengers compound, and at least one building featuring the world of Black Panther.

Across the Atlantic, as part of a huge multi-year expansion recently announced for Disneyland Paris, the new Marvel-themed area at Walt Disney Studios Park will include a reimagined attraction where riders will team up with Iron Man and their favorite Avengers on a hyper-kinetic adventure in 2020. This will be on the heels of this coming summer’s Marvel Summer of Super Heroes from June 10 to September 30, which will include a brand new, live-action super-production featuring state-of-the-art special effects and projections.

Lastly, Hong Kong Disneyland will feature a new themed area that will include an exciting attraction where guests team up with Ant-Man and The Wasp. This new attraction will join the Iron Man Experience, which opened in 2017 and is already the most popular attraction at the resort. More details are sure to follow soon for Disney’s plans for their Marvel properties in the theme parks, which may include an Avengers indoor coaster in California Adventure, if current rumors are to be believed.

The Marvel land will arrive just a year after the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. What do you think of the Marvel characters making their long awaited arrival at the Disney parks? Chime in with your thoughts down below in the comments.
