One of Marvel’s Greatest Heroes Returns in MARVEL LEGACY #1 (Major Spoilers)

Warning: There are HUGE Spoilers ahead from this week’s Marvel Legacy #1. This is your last chance to avoid knowing which classic Marvel character just got a comeback!

For months, Marvel has teased the return of a major character in Marvel Legacy #1. Now, just a few days before the issue hits comic book stores, Marvel has revealed that the hero in question is someone who has been dead for the last three years. That’s an eternity in superhero comics, but not even death could hold the ol’ Canucklehead down forever, because Wolverine is back!

ComicBook.com broke the story, and released the big reveal from Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic’s pages in Marvel Legacy #1, which confirms that this is the Wolverine we know and love.

Considering Wolverine was last seen covered in solid adamantium in Death of Wolverine, he’s looking pretty good now. But if you’re looking for answers about how Logan managed to come back from the dead, we’re apparently going to have to wait for that to unfold in other titles. What we do know is that someone gave Wolverine one of the Infinity Stones to protect, but it would have been a major feat simply to free Logan from his adamantium shell. This suggests that a cosmic entity is behind this.

This also raises the question of what will happen to Wolverine’s successors now that he’s made his return. X-23 remade herself as the All-New Wolverine, while there’s currently a version of Old Man Logan running around with the X-Men. While we don’t think that X-23 will be going anywhere, it remains to be seen if there’s room for both Logan and Old Man Logan in the Marvel Universe.

Marvel Legacy #1 will be out this Wednesday, September 27.
