Mark Hamill Confirms Rumor about STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII

The mystery of Luke Skywalker’s fate in Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been one of the most widely discussed topics in recent months. His purposeful omission from the marketing for the film has raised questions as to his whereabouts, his wellbeing, and his allegiances in the next chapter of the saga. Despite all of these questions, we do know that he will appear in the film in some capacity. Mark Hamill was spotted in Ireland during filming of The Force Awakens, proving his involvement. Though his involvement seems limited thus far, many expect him to play a bigger part in the forthcoming eighth episode of the series. Luckily, Mr. Hamill has confirmed that he, and his Jedi beard, will return for the next film.

This tweet was in response to one directed at Hamill which asked how his “contractually obligated facial hair” was treating him. The comment most likely stemmed from an interview Hamill did with Entertainment Weekly last year, in which he stated he was not a fan of having to grow the beard for Episode VII. “I’m not really a beard person. I suppose if I got used to it, I could become one. It’s just one of those things. I think they look fine on other people, it’s just not for me.”

While just about everyone expected Hamill to return for the second film in the new series, it had still not been officially confirmed by sources. Now it won’t have to be, as the last of the Jedi has taken it upon himself to do so. What are your predictions for Skywalker and the beard? Let us know in the comments below!
