Man Breaks Guinness World Record for Slicing Watermelons on His Stomach

Ashrita Furman, the current Guinness World Record holder for holding the most world records, just added another world record to his repertoire by slicing watermelons on his stomach. Using a katana and his abs of steel, Furman sliced through an astonishing 26 watermelons on his stomach in just one minute.

To be fair, Furman also invented the world record in the first place, submitting the idea to Guinness, who then stipulated that Furman would have slice at least 20 watermelons in order to secure the honor. Not only did he hit that mark, ya boi Furman passed it by 6!

According to his own website, Furman has been fascinated by the Guinness Book of Records since he was a child but never believed he would be able to attain one himself due to his non-athleticism. It wasn’t until later in life under the tutelage of Indian spiritual leader Sri Chinmoy that Furman became transfixed with the philosophy of self-transcendence and broke his first world record in 1979 by doing 27,000 jumping jacks. Having caught the bug, Furman has been breaking unconventional records ever since.

To date, Furman has broken over 700 world records with over 200 of them still standing. Some of his most unusual records include most games of hopscotch completed in 24 hours, most grapes caught in mouth in one minute, and longest continuous distance traveled while balancing a milk bottle on your head.

Now let’s see if he can keep the milk balanced on his head while slicing watermelons.
