MAD MAX Game Gets High-Octane Launch Trailer

Oh, what a game! What a lovely game! You’ve seen the film, and today, you’ll finally be able to play Avalanche Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s Mad Max on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC–that is, if you aren’t playing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain instead. In celebration of the game’s official release, the developer released a high octane launch trailer that’s got our adrenaline pumping. Check it out at the top of the page.

For those who don’t know, Mad Max is a third-person, open-world action game set in the same world as the eponymous film franchise. The game features vehicular and melee combat, as well as a myriad of weapons such as flamethrowers, a mounted cannon, a harpoon, and a variety of of other objects that our hero Max can pick up in the environment.

Mad Max is an iconic character, recently re-introduced to the world by the latest film, and now we’re introducing a new way for fans and gamers to experience the adventure-filled Wasteland universe in which he lives,” said Peter Wyse, Vice President, Group General Manager, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Avalanche Studios has created an expansive, beautiful open world environment that comes to life with a brand new story for Mad Max.”

As big fans of the series, “creating an open-world game in such a brutal setting” was right up their alley, noted Avalanche Studios’ Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Christopher Sundberg.

By the looks of the trailer, and the bit we had a chance to play prior to relase, riding around in Max’s Magnum Opus is a ton of fun, which is good because you’ll be designing, customizing, upgrading, and using it to traverse the map for up to 60% of the game’s campaign.

Check out the gallery below for a closer look at the title. For more on the game’s features and what we thought of them, keep Nerdist tabbed for our upcoming review.

What did you think of the trailer? Are you planning on picking the game up? Will there ever be enough time to play all of the games this fall? Let us know in the comments below.
