Legoland to Premiere THE LEGO MOVIE 4D: A NEW ADVENTURE in 2016

Everything is awesome at LEGOLAND, because there you don’t have to wait until 2018 for a sequel to The LEGO Movie—they’ve got one ready for you! That said, you may have to do some traveling if you don’t live near one of the parks.

That’s right: LEGOLAND has announced it will open The LEGO Movie 4D: A New Adventure in early 2016. And as the title suggests, it really is a new adventure, which brings back Emmet, Wyldstyle, Unikitty, Benny, and MetalBeard from The LEGO Movie as they are summoned to a new LEGO theme park where all of the rides are based on their experiences in The LEGO Movie.

Elizabeth Banks is slated to reprise her role as Wyldstyle, alongside fellow returning cast members, including Alison Brie as Unikitty, Nick Offerman as MetalBeard, and Charlie Day as Benny. It’s unclear if Chris Pratt will return to voice Emmet for this attraction, but comedy legend Patton Oswalt will make his LEGO debut as Risky Business, the new villain featured in The LEGO Movie 4D.

The LEGO Movie 4D

In addition to the usual 4D effects featuring water, wind, smoke, and lighting illusions, The LEGO 4D Movie will also allow audiences to participate by using their “Master Builder skills to help save [the heroes].”

The LEGO Movie 2 director Rob Schrab will also helm The LEGO Movie 4D from a script by Adam Pava, the screenwriter of The Boxtrolls. The LEGO Movie 4D: A New Adventure will make its debut at LEGOLAND Florida Resort on January 29, 2016, before coming to LEGOLAND California Resort on February 6, 2016. From there, The LEGO Movie 4D will roll out at LEGOLAND Discovery Centers around the world.

LEGO fans, will you be the first in line to see The LEGO Movie 4D? Leave a comment below, but don’t use any Duplo blocks!
