This Sweet Edible LEGO Gummy Recipe Lets You Cook Up Some Fun

The internet is an amazing place, especially when it brings out the kid in us all AND fills our tummies at the same time. If you’ve read the title already, you know I am talking about a DIY recipe for LEGO gelatin blocks. Since I know you are wondering, yes, they are stackable. I guess you could say it brings a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘playing with your food.’

In the video at the top of the page, Grant Thompson of the brilliant King of Random DIY YouTube channel, gives you the step-by step scoop on how to create the delectable delights. As far as ingredients are concerned, all you’ll need is gelatin, corn syrup, a pack of Jell-O, and water — though you could opt for flavored gelatin as well (and you should).

In order to get that perfect shape, Thompson explains that you can either buy your own LEGO molds from places like Amazon or the LEGO store, or you can save some money by making your own silicone molds. While he didn’t show how to make a mold, he linked to Instructables.com in the video’s description if you decide to go that route.

If you’re vegan and don’t want to use gelatin but still want to try this out, don’t worry! According to the post, you can opt for recipes that use Pectin, which Thompson notes is made from fruits. And you can even make them sour by adding citric acid or vitamin C to the recipe. Not only will it make the gummies taste great, but they’ll also have health benefits. I mean you might as well get your daily dose of Vitamin C while you’re having fun stacking your food, right?

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m headed to the kitchen to try this out.
